Conclusion

Like many of my current MLIS cohort, I began this program during a global pandemic. I had long desired to become an archivist and, in the face of the isolation and boredom of Covid-19 lockdown, I decided to take the leap and apply to iSchools. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the SJSU MLIS program, connected with instructors and students whom I hope will become life-long friends, and feel strongly that I made the right choice for my professional future. As I continue to actively seek work in my chosen field, I will continue to center myself around the principles and best practices of the library and information science profession, pursue professional development opportunities, and always seek to facilitate equitable access to, and use of, trustworthy information and knowledge with the overarching goal of contributing in a meaningful way to just and informed democratic societies.
